Today I would like to talk about one impressive archviz artist I found searching through Behance. Her name is Anastasia Birulya and her renders are really impressive and memorable. They have charm and character, strong understanding of color theory, materiality, composition and a gentle playfulness that I notice in the most creative 3D artists. All those qualities make an impressive mix and give us some of the best works in archviz world. I believe this woman is doing her best works and I wish here even more success in her professional field. This post is to highlight her impressive skills, give her more recognition and to analyze what makes those images so damn sexy. Let's dive in!

In this image you can see a great sense of human eye perspective. I often dislike cameras position from unrealistic locations, since it takes you away from the feeling of presence in the space. Here, on the other hand, slightly lower camera, taken as if from the seated position, not only makes you relate much better, but it is also a good technique to reduce the amount of empty ceiling space. I also have to point out that that blurred element in the foreground is marvelous, a hint to every archviz artist is to take notes, because foreground elements give a sense of depth and gives a good dose of realism.

Oh, how I love this one, those glass bricks are damn fantastic and their random placement makes this busy part of the image a much more pleasant thing to look at. Carpet and various wood types work very well together, it looks very harmonic and light. The decoration with books and stuff on the cupboard are great, although I might get picky and get too focused on the flowers on top of the book. It is a decision made for a better composition and to make space look more lived in, but perhaps, this composition is a bit unrealistic. Also, a constant pain in the ass of every 3D artist - clipping furniture though the carpet, when furniture has it's base at both floor and carpet with thickness. So, it is something small, client will definitely not notice it, but it is something to lookout for.

On this image, there are many similar elements, but I think it gets a new lovely dimension thanks to that vibrant and playful painting of a tiger with knotted shoelaces (What???). But aside from that I can not ignore that fantastically realistic sofa that looks so cozy I want to melt in it. I love that monstera too.

Such a simple but a damn beautiful view. This light creates a sense of presence and realism and this frame with an eye painting is just so well placed from the perspective of composition - it makes me feel very happy.

The other view from previously mentioned image where glass brick was an important element. Here, it's presence allows you picture the entire space much better, yet it is just a small reference that looks great. Aside from it, colors are working so subtly but yet beautifully communicating with each other - the green of the glass table, glass pendant and a lovely fern on the kitchen shelf. Reds are very few, but work just as great - carpet corner and flowers on the table. Materials of the kitchen are super nice, this stone and vertical tiles a very gentle, I love how it communicates with the other, mostly warm, wooden materials.

Here we have another snippet of life in this lovely apartment, slightly more focused on the cute composition of the small dining table. All previously noted element still work here just as well, but now we see a bit more element, and I can not ignore that tasteful curtain that very believably hangs to the floor and has very realistic folds except a few sharper corner on the top part of the image.

Let's take a look at this bathroom. Damn! Very elegant and feels very warm - the way I prefer to feel in a bathroom - nobody likes feeling cold in a place where you spend some of your time partially of fully naked. The lamps at the corner of the image has a great light and materiality, it feels very appropriate given very textured materials of everything else in the bathroom.

On this perspective we get a better look at the tiles and a door. I love it! This door is very sleek and wooden material is chosen incredibly well. Tiles have a lovely pattern and inclusion of green tiles that connect it to the sink visually.

Ah, and let's conclude out today deep dive with this sexy image of a bedroom. Every element works here beautifully, from colors of pillows that communicate with the other elements of the image, and a subtle light that seeps in through shutters, and I don't know it is intentional, but those horizontal lines communicate in a lovely way with the pendant lamp. And as a last thing, I noted for future that a pattern of bedsheets is a totally legal and appropriate way of spicing up your bedroom visuals. I rarely considered it, but now I might consider it for my own works! Thanks Anastasia for sharing your works with the world, teaching me what makes a great renders and for pushing the field of archviz to grow. I believe you yourself see your works as far from perfection, and as I pointed out on some of them, there are objective elements that could be improved, but it is already a very high bar for majority of archviz artists. And that is where the fun is! I hope you will have a great career in this field, don't lose your playfulness and grow as a professional.
